The Programme That Started It All — BITE's flagship since 2003, 16+ weeks school internship
Admission 2026-27 details — fees, deadline, eligibility, scholarshipsNCTE-approved teacher training programme blending Indian pedagogy with NEP 2020 framework and 400+ hours practicum. The flagship programme of BITE.
The Bachelor of Education at BITE is the institution's flagship programme — a two-year, NCTE-approved teacher-training course that has produced 5,000+ qualified teachers for schools across Uttar Pradesh and beyond since 2003. Affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith and anchored in BITE's own I-D-E-A Framework (Inquiry-based learning, Dialogue-driven classrooms, Ethics and values, Action-research), the programme blends NEP 2020 pedagogical principles with Indian knowledge systems — acknowledging that a teacher in Varanasi teaches against the backdrop of a civilisational continuity unique in the world. The programme's signature feature is 400+ hours of classroom practicum spread across the four semesters, anchored in BITE's active network of 40+ partner schools across Varanasi, Jaunpur, and Ghazipur — a mix of government, government-aided, and private English-medium schools. Semester 1 covers foundational philosophy of education, psychology, and sociology of education. Semester 2 adds pedagogy of school subjects, assessment and evaluation, and internal teaching practice. Semesters 3 and 4 include externally-supervised teaching internships (typically 16-20 weeks total), ICT in education, inclusive education, and gender-and-school modules. The final semester integrates CTET / UPTET / Super-TET preparation — mock tests, previous-year paper analyses, time-management strategies — directly into the curriculum. BITE's measured outcomes speak for themselves: 92% B.Ed examination pass rate (2025 cohort) and 78% CTET pass rate (2024 cohort). B.Ed admission at BITE follows the UP B.Ed JEE (joint entrance examination); 100 sanctioned seats per year are allocated through the state counselling process based on JEE rank. Minimum eligibility is a Bachelor's degree with 50% aggregate (45% for SC/ST/OBC/PwD), with science/math subject specialisations sometimes requiring 55%. Graduates enter TGT / PGT teaching positions, government-school posts via UPTET / UP-Basic-Teacher-Recruitment exams, private-school teaching roles, and go on to M.Ed, B.Ed specialisations, and Ph.D. research in education.
