The Bachelor of Physical Education at BITE is a two-year professional programme for graduates committed to careers in school physical education, sports coaching, athletics, and fitness science. Affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith, the curriculum blends exercise physiology, sports-science foundations, kinesiology, sports psychology, pedagogy of physical education, and hands-on coaching modules for major team and individual sports — football, cricket, volleyball, basketball, kabaddi, badminton, table tennis, and athletics. BITE's campus includes outdoor sports facilities (an athletics track, football and cricket grounds, volleyball, basketball, and kabaddi courts), a multi-purpose indoor hall, and fitness-assessment equipment; the department also arranges travel to specialised facilities for swimming and gymnastics training. Admission requires a Bachelor's degree with minimum 50% aggregate (45% for reserved categories) plus clearance of BITE's physical fitness test — a standardised battery measuring endurance, strength, speed, flexibility, and coordination (timed run, push-ups, long jump, shuttle run, and flexibility assessment). Candidates with a sports-participation certificate at district level or above are preferred. 50 sanctioned seats per year. B.P.Ed qualifies graduates to teach physical education in CBSE, ICSE, UP Board, and private schools after CTET/TET qualification; to pursue sports-coaching careers after additional NIS Patiala certifications; to move into fitness-training and wellness careers; to apply for government sports-officer roles (State and PSU); to continue to M.P.Ed and Ph.D.; and to enter defence-services physical-training instructor pathways. CTET/UPTET integration in the final semester ensures graduates are interview-ready for teaching positions at graduation.
