Curiosity Becomes Discovery — lab-intensive science with research focus
Admission 2026-27 details — fees, deadline, eligibility, scholarshipsRigorous science education combining theoretical foundations with laboratory practice in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology.
The Bachelor of Science at BITE is a three-year, six-semester programme designed for students who want both theoretical rigour and serious hands-on laboratory practice. BITE offers B.Sc. across PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics), PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology), Home Science, Statistics, and Geography majors — all affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith and aligned with the NEP 2020 multidisciplinary framework. Each semester pairs theory classes with dedicated lab sessions, and the department hosts a student Science Club that runs field-trip programmes to the Ganga floodplain (Geography), pharmaceutical units (Chemistry), and ICAR institutes (Biology). The programme has 240 sanctioned seats distributed across majors and is one of BITE's strongest pipelines into M.Sc., M.Ed., and competitive-exam preparation. Varanasi sits near two of India's oldest research ecosystems — BHU's Faculty of Science and the Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies (Sarnath) — and BITE students routinely attend seminars, paper-presentation events, and summer schools hosted by these peer institutions. By graduation, a B.Sc. student has the lab hours, project experience, and scientific-writing foundation to progress to a Master's programme, enter lab-technician or pharmaceutical-industry roles, or pivot into Applied-Science pathways like Agricultural Science, Food Technology, or Environmental Consulting.
