Admissions 2026-27 — Everything You Need to Know

Admissions for the 2026-27 academic session are underway at BITE Varanasi. This post is a single reference for everything an applicant needs — programmes, eligibility, fees, dates, documents, process.

One thing to settle before the detail. BITE's B.Ed seats for 2026-27 are now filled; B.Ed enquiries are being taken for the next cycle, and the admissions cell will contact registered candidates when UP B.Ed JEE counselling opens. Every other programme is open until 30 September 2026 — read the rest of this guide with that one exception in mind.

The 17 programmes

The affiliations are not uniform, and it matters for whose name goes on your degree. Fifteen of the 17 are MGKVP-affiliated. The MBA is the exception — affiliated to AKTU (College Code 1284) and AICTE-approved. The D.El.Ed runs under SCERT-UP. NCTE recognition covers the three teacher-training programmes: B.Ed, B.P.Ed and D.El.Ed.

• Applications open: 1 April 2026
• Application deadline: 30 September 2026
• Document verification: Rolling — scheduled after application submission
• Session start: 15 July 2026 (for candidates admitted by mid-July)

Apply early, especially if you need to complete document verification in person.

Eligibility at a glance

• BA / B.Com / BBA / BCA: 10+2 from any recognised board with a minimum 45% aggregate. No specific stream is required for any of the four — BCA does not require Mathematics, though a Maths background helps in the first-semester programming papers. BCA adds a brief screening interview.
• B.Sc.: 10+2 with the Science stream, minimum 45% in PCM / PCB.
• MA (Hindi / Geography / Political Science / Sociology / the two Home Science streams): a bachelor's degree with the matching subject — BA with Hindi for MA Hindi, BA with Geography for MA Geography, and so on; BA or B.Sc. with Home Science, Psychology or a relevant subject for the Home Science MAs — minimum 50% aggregate.
• M.Com: B.Com or equivalent with minimum 50% aggregate.
• MBA: bachelor's degree in any stream with minimum 50%. Entry is through AKTU / UPTAC counselling on a CUET-PG score; CAT / MAT / CMAT / XAT / GMAT are accepted only for institute-level direct admission against seats left vacant after the counselling rounds.
• PG Diploma in Remote Sensing & GIS: a bachelor's degree in any discipline (Geography, Geology, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, Agriculture, Forestry, Planning and Computer Science backgrounds are especially suited).
• B.Ed: bachelor's degree with 50% (45% for reserved categories) plus a valid UP B.Ed JEE entrance score. Note the seat position above: 2026-27 B.Ed seats are filled, so this is the criterion to meet for the next cycle.
• B.P.Ed: bachelor's degree with 50%, plus BITE's physical fitness test.
• D.El.Ed: graduation from a recognised university. Candidates are admitted with 10+2 (50% aggregate) only where that year's UPBEEC counselling notification allows it.

Reserved category relaxation: 5% across the board, per UP state norms.

Fee structure

Fees vary by programme. B.Ed and B.P.Ed follow the standard MGKVP professional-programme structures and D.El.Ed the SCERT-UP one; the UG and PG degrees use the regular undergraduate / postgraduate scales. The MBA is priced separately — the inaugural 2026-27 Golden Batch pays ₹1,65,000 in total (₹1,60,000 tuition plus a one-time ₹5,000 registration). Payment options: bank transfer, online payment via the admissions portal, or demand draft at the admissions office.

Scholarships

BITE participates in a range of scholarship schemes:

• Central government scholarships via UGC-recognised MGKVP affiliation
• UP state scholarships for SC / ST / OBC categories
• Minority scholarships for eligible communities
• Merit scholarships at the college level for high-scoring entrants

The 5-step application process

1. Create an account on the online application portal 2. Fill the application form — personal details, academic record, programme preference 3. Upload documents — scanned mark sheet, ID proof, photograph, caste certificate (if applicable) 4. Pay application fee — online payment or DD 5. Submit and track status — you'll receive email updates on shortlisting, verification, and admission

For programmes with limited seats, merit-based shortlisting happens after the application window. Document verification is scheduled at BITE's campus.

• 10+2 mark sheet (original + photocopy for verification)
• UG mark sheet (for PG / professional programmes)
• Transfer certificate from last institution
• Character certificate
• Photo ID (Aadhaar or passport)
• Caste certificate (if claiming reservation)
• Income certificate (if applying for scholarships)
• Passport-size photographs (6 copies)
• Migration certificate (for students from non-UP boards)

Common questions

Can I apply for more than one programme? Yes, but you commit to one at the time of seat confirmation. Admission preference and eligibility are evaluated programme-by-programme.

Is there an entrance exam at BITE? BITE sets no test of its own, but the route in differs by programme, and getting this wrong costs you a cycle. The MGKVP undergraduate and postgraduate programmes — BA, B.Sc., B.Com, BBA, BCA, the six MAs and M.Com — are direct-merit admissions on your 10+2 or bachelor's percentage (BCA adds a short screening interview). B.Ed goes through UP B.Ed JEE and the state counselling that follows it. D.El.Ed goes through UPBEEC counselling.
