BITE’s transparency framework — voluntary disclosure policy, how to file RTI with our affiliating university and regulatory body, and direct links to official channels.
BITE Varanasi is a private institution under Purwanchal Educational Trust. Private colleges are generally not directly covered under the Right to Information Act, 2005 for information requests. However:
RTI about B.Ed / B.P.Ed / D.El.Ed recognition → NCTE. About MGKVP affiliation / exams / degrees → MGKVP Registrar (PIO). About BITE's voluntary disclosure → enquiry@bitevns.ac.in.
Plain A4 paper (or online form at rtionline.gov.in for central bodies). State your name, address, contact number, and the specific information sought. Be as precise as possible — vague requests take longer to process.
₹10 application fee (Indian Postal Order / DD / online payment). BPL applicants are exempt. Additional ₹2/page photocopy fee for information supplied on paper.
By post, in person, or via rtionline.gov.in (for central bodies). Keep the dated acknowledgement.
PIO has 30 days to respond (48 hours if it concerns life / liberty). If no response or unsatisfactory response, file a First Appeal with the appellate authority of the same organisation within 30 days.

However, information held by the affiliating university (Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith) or the regulatory body (NCTE) is covered, and RTI applications about BITE can be filed with them. For RTI about NCTE recognition (B.Ed, B.P.Ed, D.El.Ed): file with the NCTE PIO at ncte-india.org. For RTI about MGKVP-affiliated matters (exams, degrees, affiliation): file with the MGKVP PIO. Applications can be filed online via rtionline.gov.in for central-government bodies, or by post for state-government bodies.

Academic records (transcripts, mark sheets, certificates) are issued by MGKVP, not BITE directly. Submit a request through the BITE exam cell (visit in person or email enquiry@bitevns.ac.in) and BITE will forward it to MGKVP. No RTI application needed for your own records.
