A schedule that works: Sem 4 — a serious newspaper habit (The Hindu + Dainik Jagran). Sem 5 — sit a diagnostic mock; decide UPSC vs state-PCS vs banking. Sem 6 — fill forms, sit prelims. Post-BA — 12–18 months of full-time preparation for UPSC, 6–9 months for state-PCS or banking. Cracking UPSC at first attempt while studying full-time is rare; plan honestly.

How many subjects can I study in the BITE BA, and how is it structured?

Fifteen subjects across five families. Under NEP-2020 you choose two Majors from one family and one Minor from another, plus a Skill Development course and a Co-Curricular course — 20 credits every semester, across six semesters. What is the total fee for the 3-year BA at BITE Varanasi?

The whole 3-year degree is ₹22,500 total — not per year. Semester-wise: ₹3,500 + ₹3,500 + ₹4,000 + ₹3,500 + ₹4,500 + ₹3,500. Paid 60% at admission and 40% mid-session, no interest. Around 60% of BITE students receive a government or institutional scholarship.
Is there an entrance exam for BA admission?

No. BA admission at BITE is merit-based on your Class XII percentage and subject-combination eligibility (per MGKVP rules) — there is no entrance test and no application fee. Free counselling is available on call or WhatsApp.
How many BA seats are there, and when does the session start?

480 sanctioned seats for 2026-27, allotted on merit under UP reservation norms (SC, ST, OBC, EWS, PwD, women). The session begins 15 July 2026; apply early to lock your preferred subject combination.
Is the BITE BA degree valid for government jobs and further study?

Yes. The degree is awarded by Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith (MGKVP), UGC 2(f) & 12(B) recognised — valid for UPSC / State PCS, SSC, banking, teaching (with B.Ed), and MA / MBA / LLB admission. NEP-2020 also adds a five-exit ladder with the credits stored in the Academic Bank of Credits.
Can Hindi-medium students do the BA at BITE?

Yes — BITE conducts BA classes bilingually. Many full careers run entirely in Hindi (UPSC Hindi-medium, Hindi press, OTT subtitling, Hindi content). English-medium is not required.
