Is there any application fee?

No! BITE charges absolutely zero application fee. The entire application process is 100% free and fully online. You only pay the admission fee after receiving your admission confirmation.

What documents are required for application?

You'll need: 10th & 12th marksheets, graduation marksheet (for PG/B.Ed), passport-size photo, Aadhaar card, caste certificate (if applicable), transfer certificate, and migration certificate (if applicable). All documents can be uploaded as scanned copies.

Is BITE approved by NCTE and affiliated to a university?

Yes. BITE is approved by NCTE (National Council for Teacher Education) for B.Ed, B.P.Ed, and D.El.Ed programmes, and all programmes are affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith (MGKVP), Varanasi — a state university established by an Act of UP Legislature.

What is the selection process?

It varies by programme. BA, B.Sc., B.Com, MA, M.Com are merit-based. BBA and BCA have entrance tests. B.Ed and D.El.Ed follow state-level entrance. B.P.Ed includes a physical fitness test. Details are listed in the eligibility section above.

Are hostel facilities available?

Hostel facilities are not currently available on campus. Students can find affordable private accommodation near the campus in Babatpur, Varanasi. BITE Sampark can assist with recommendations.

Can I apply for multiple programmes simultaneously?

Yes, you can apply for up to 3 programmes in a single application. If selected for multiple, you can choose your preferred programme during counselling.

Is there a provision for lateral entry or credit transfer?

Yes, lateral entry is available for select programmes (BCA Year 2, B.Com Year 2) for diploma holders. Credit transfer from other MGKVP-affiliated colleges is also supported subject to equivalence.

What scholarships are available?

BITE offers merit scholarships (for 60%+ marks, subject to approval), need-based aid (up to 20%, subject to PET approval), sports excellence concession (10%), and full government scholarships for SC/ST/OBC/Minority and General category students.

What programming languages does the BCA cover?

C and C++ in semester 1-2, Java in semester 3, Python in semester 4, web stack (HTML/CSS/JavaScript, one framework) in semester 5, and emerging areas — AI/ML, cloud, mobile — as electives in semester 6.

Does BCA include hands-on labs and projects?

Yes. Every semester has a dedicated programming lab and a small project. Semester 6 includes a major capstone project, often built for a local business or as a portfolio piece. BITE's digital lab is open beyond class hours for practice.

Can I pursue MCA or M.Sc. Computer Science after BCA?

Yes. BITE alumni progress to MCA (MGKVP, BHU, AKTU), M.Sc. Computer Science, MBA in IT, and direct industry entry as junior developers, quality-assurance engineers, and support roles.

What industry certifications are supported?

The curriculum prepares students for recognised certifications (Oracle SQL, AWS Cloud Practitioner, Google Cloud Foundations, Microsoft Azure Fundamentals) with in-house workshops. BITE does not directly issue these certifications — students sit for them through the respective issuers.
