BITE Varanasi (MGKVP-affiliated, NCTE-recognised since 2003) is one of UP's most consistent B.Ed colleges. Many of our alumni now serve as UP government Assistant Teachers across the state. Apply for the 2026-27 B.Ed or D.El.Ed cohort to start your Super-TET pathway with proper academic foundation.
Super-TET is the actual RECRUITMENT exam conducted by UPBEB for UP Assistant Teacher posts. UP-TET is the ELIGIBILITY test — passing UP-TET makes you eligible to apply for Super-TET. You CANNOT take Super-TET without first clearing UP-TET (or CTET, accepted as alternate). Think of it as: UP-TET = entrance ticket, Super-TET = the recruitment exam where you compete for a specific govt teaching job in UP.
Three pre-requisites: (1) UP-TET cleared OR CTET cleared (UPBEB accepts both as eligibility); (2) Qualifying degree — D.El.Ed for primary teacher posts (Classes I-V), B.Ed for upper-primary posts (Classes VI-VIII); (3) Domicile / nationality criteria per the notification (typically Indian citizen, UP domicile preferred for state-quota seats). Age limit applies per each Super-TET notification — typically 21-40 with relaxations.
150 multiple-choice questions, 150 marks total, 2.5 hours duration. Computer-Based Test (CBT). 10 subjects: Hindi (40 marks), General Knowledge (30 marks), Mathematics (20 marks), Pedagogy (10), Science (10), Environment & Social Studies (10), Life Skills/Management (10), English (10), Reasoning (5), IT (5). Negative marking rules per current notification (verify — has varied across cycles).
Per recent UPBEB notifications: 40% (60/150) for General category, 33% (49.5/150) for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwD. However, since Super-TET is a RECRUITMENT exam (not just eligibility), the actual selection cut-off is much higher — competitive merit-list cut-offs in recent cycles have ranged 90-130/150 depending on category and vacancy. Qualifying score alone is necessary but not sufficient.
₹35,400–₹1,12,400 per 7th CPC Pay Level 6 + UP-state Dearness Allowance + House Rent Allowance + Transport Allowance. In-hand starting salary typically ~₹40,000-45,000/month in major UP cities, rising to ₹60,000+ within 5-10 years through annual increments. Government job security, permanent posting, full pension benefits, and General Provident Fund all apply.
Super-TET is conducted by UPBEB whenever the state government issues a vacancy notification — typically every 1-2 years, but the actual frequency depends on the UP government recruitment policy. Recent cycles have seen significant gaps due to administrative challenges. Always watch upbasiceduboard.gov.in for the current notification cycle.
YES. There is no limit on the number of attempts at Super-TET as long as you remain within the age criteria of each cycle (typically 21-40 years with category relaxations). Many candidates attempt across 2-3 cycles before clearing. The lifetime validity of UP-TET / CTET (since 2021) means you don't need to re-take the eligibility exam between attempts.
YES in most recent cycles — UPBEB accepts CTET as a valid eligibility alternative to UP-TET. However, the exact recognition is set per Super-TET notification — read the current cycle's eligibility section carefully. To maximise eligibility surface and de-risk against future rule changes, hold BOTH CTET and UP-TET. Both have lifetime validity since 2021; the marginal effort is minimal.
BITE's B.Ed (2 years, NCTE-recognised since 2003) and D.El.Ed (2 years) curricula directly cover the major Super-TET subjects — Pedagogy (10 marks), Mathematics (20), Science (10), Social Studies (10), English / Hindi pedagogy. Many BITE alumni clear Super-TET 1-3 years after graduation. Our 5,000+ alumni network includes UP Basic Education Board teachers across multiple districts. Apply for the 2026-27 B.Ed cohort to start the pathway.
Multiple parallel paths exist: (1) Other state recruitments — Bihar BTET-based recruitment, MP recruitment, Rajasthan REET; (2) Central recruitments — KVS PRT/TGT (Pay Level 6/7), NVS TGT, EMRS; (3) Private school placement (CBSE / ICSE chains) — strongly prefer CTET-qualified candidates; (4) CTET-qualified TGT roles at residential schools, Sainik Schools, Railway schools. Persistence + parallel applications across 3-5 channels is the standard playbook for successful govt-teacher candidates.
