Step-by-step walkthrough of MGKVP's UG admission application — from Samarth-portal registration to counselling. Documents, fees, common mistakes, and the BITE-specific shortcut.
mgkvpadmission.samarth.edu.in is the admission portal (used for applying as a new student — this page covers it). janhit.mgkvp.ac.in is the examinationportal (used after you're enrolled — for results, marksheets, exam schedule; see JANHIT guide).

Dates per the official MGKVP Admission Brochure 2026-27. Extensions of 1-2 weeks are common — always verify current status on the Samarth portal before deciding next steps.
Visit mgkvpadmission.samarth.edu.in directly. The portal is hosted on the Government of India's Samarth eGov platform — the same platform used by Banaras Hindu University, JNU, and many other public-university admissions. Do NOT confuse it with janhit.mgkvp.ac.in (which is the post-admission examination portal for already-enrolled students).
Click "New Registration." Enter your full name (exactly as on your 10+2 marksheet), date of birth, mobile number, and a valid email ID. The portal will send a one-time password (OTP) to verify your mobile + email — use ones you check daily, because every subsequent step uses these for notifications.
MGKVP allows multiple programme preferences in one application. Pick from B.A., B.Com, B.Sc, BCA, BBA, B.Ed, B.P.Ed, D.El.Ed, M.A. specialisations, M.Com, and others. For UG (B.A./B.Com/B.Sc/BCA/BBA), admission is merit-based on 10+2 marks. B.Ed requires a valid UP B.Ed JEE rank in parallel.
Enter your 10+2 board name, year of passing, marks per subject, aggregate percentage, and any sports/NCC/NSS/Rovers achievements (these get weightage in the merit calculation, capped at 25 marks). For PG programmes, also enter your bachelor's degree details. Double-check every entry — corrections after submission are difficult.
Required documents: scanned photo (passport size, max 100 KB JPG), signature (max 50 KB JPG), 10+2 marksheet (max 500 KB PDF), category certificate if applicable, Aadhaar, and domicile certificate if claiming UP-resident benefits. The portal specifies exact pixel dimensions for photo + signature — use those or upload will fail.
Approximate fee: ₹500 for General/OBC, ₹250 for SC/ST/PwD candidates (verify exact amount on the portal — minor revisions each cycle). Payment is online only via HDFC/ICICI/Indian Bank gateway — UPI, debit/credit card, or net banking. Save the transaction receipt; it is the only proof that your application was completed.
Review every field on the final page, then click "Submit." Save the application confirmation page as PDF (use your browser's "Save as PDF" option) and download the filled form. Print one copy for your records — counselling document verification will ask for it.
After submission, your application moves to merit-list compilation. The portal sends SMS/email notifications when the provisional merit list is published, when counselling rounds begin, and when seat allotments are released. Log in periodically to verify these messages are reaching you.
